Blogs a Success for Realtors
The primary reason we started this blog was due to the advice of an actual realtor. No, I’m not referring to “just another” real estate agent, I’m referring to a person who is much farther ahead of the game than others. Technology has taken over the way real estate is conducted and this agent definitely understands that aspect.
When we initially decided to take our home off the market, we knew we were going to have to start the process over again and with another agent. We said okay, let’s try this again in March. Thus, we had about 3 months to get everything aligned and ready to go for the next phase. I knew I needed to find information about how to really sell your home and needed to find it fast. The problem I encountered was that there was the same information by just about every person in the real estate business. I was a tad hesitant to just shoot emails to agents looking for information as their eventual goal would be to get our listing. So, I did some more digging. Eventually, I stumbled upon a great blog that had a majourity of information I was looking to retrieve.
I found ChicagoMetroAreaRealEstate.com which is owned and facilitated by Fran Bailey. I finally decided to comment on a blog posting regarding handling showing times as a seller. Not only did Fran answer my question directly, she even created a blog posting about my specific inquiry. Not only did it answer my question, a few other realtors chimed in with their thoughts. I continue to read her blog daily as it is very informative and has great up-to-date information about the real estate market. Fran was also mentioned in the Chicago Tribune regarding her success of using a blog.
The days of finding information on an individual realtor website may soon be approaching an end. In today’s world of selling a home, technology usage is crucial and there are many different methods and tools to use to spread the word about your home. Realtors are finding this out and using blogs to provide a direct conduit to their targeted audience.
